Chinese New Year’s Menu

恭喜發財! Happy Chinese New Year! This is the beginning of the Year of the Ox <s>and now we can kiss the last bit of 2020 goodbye</s>.

If you live somewhere with an active Chinese population, most years, you probably get to see all the red-tinted lanterns (red being the color of good luck), the fireworks, the red envelopes of money given to children, and of course, all the food!

My family never did anything huge for Chinese New Year, but my mom did always make the point that it was a perfect reason to order Chinese takeout. (Hey, I can’t argue with that logic!) We’d always order enough that the leftovers would last several days afterwards, and I always loved those.

If you want to recreate some Chinese takeout favorites at home, I have a list of my recipes below! (I’ll also add to this through the year, so you can come back to this list again and again.)
